Using the banner maker

These instructions are to help you use the free banner generator.

1. Choose the size banner you want, if you want to upload your own picture from your computer click on the upload option and then browse your computer. You will see how the banner maker will crop your photo if it is too large.

2. If you want a color scheme on your banner choose the pattern and start color

3. the color to start over on the left is chosen at 3a and the final color at 3b

4. If you know the code type it in the box, if not then you can pick the color.

4a - Click on the bottom right hand corner of the box and the color picker will open

4b - With your left mouse click and drag the color up and down the scale

4c - With the left mouse move the circle around the color square until you get the color you want.

5 - Choose the font that you want
A - you can put in 3 different rows of text, any you do not want just leave blank
B - choose the color for each text
C - choose the font face, if you click on the text "font face" this will open a new window where you can see all the fonts available
D - pick the font size
E - you can have the text on an angle if you want, just choose which angle you want
F - move the buttons up/down and left/right to move where the text is placed on the banner
G - if you want a shadow under the text choose the color and the distance from the text

Don't forget to use the refresh button over on the right hand side everytime to see how your banner is coming along.

6 - If you want a border round the banner choose the color and the thickness of the border

7 - You can choose any of the effects offered. If you do not like the effect then put it back to "no effect"

8 - Save the banner and get the code, just press the button. You have the option to to get a variety of codes. The banner you have made will be saved on the howrseinfo computer so it is always a good idea to right click your finished banner and save the image to your own computer. You can then get the image hosted onto tinypic or your own photobucket account.

I tried to be a smarty-pants and used the banner maker without instructions. I thought myself very clever until
I realised I couldn't figure out what any of it meant. Thanks to the instructions, I have made a banner and have enjoyed displaying it.
